How do I Apply to Study in Canada?

  • Step 1

    Decide On your School

    Choosing a School or Institute to study is your first step. 

    A school that is approved by the Canadian government, also known as Designated Learning Institutions is a pre requisite. 

  • Step 2

    Apply to your School of Choice.

    This is the next step.  If you are accepted, you will be issued an acceptance letter and you can move on to the next step. 

    Make sure you apply at least:

    • six months in advance if you want to study at a primary or secondary school,
    • a year in advance for a post-secondary program at a university, college, etc.

    Contact the school where you want to study to learn how to apply. They will give you the list of all the documents you need to send them. Your school will be able to tell you about:

    • the cost to apply
    • tuition fees
    • health insurance
    • rent and how much it costs to live in Canada
    • language tests.
  • Step 3

    Apply for your Study Permit

    You will need to submit some applications to obtain your permit from the Canadian Government at this stage. 

  • Step 4

    Documents Needed

    • Valid Passport
    • Acceptance letter from a Designated Learning Institution (step 2)
    • Proof that you have enough Funds to cover your Studies for the first Year.
    • Police clearance certificates.
    • Biometrics.
    • Degree or related Certificate and Proof from Institute.
    • Recent CV.
    • Marriage certificate.
    • Birth certificates for minor children.
    • Notarized letter of consent for a child who is travelling with only one parent.
    • Custodianship declaration for students less than 18 years of age who are not going to be accompanied by a parent.
  • Step 4

    Study Plans Application (Some Students)

    Certain students will need to submit a study plan that answers the following Questions:

    • Why have you chosen Canada to study and not your own country?
    • Educational Goals for the next 3 to 4 years?
  • Step 5

    Know the Costs

    Each institute is different and the costs will vary from city to city. 

    On average, The cost per year to Study and Live in Canada will be CAN$20000.
