How Express Entry to Canada Works?

Step 1
Assess Your Eligibility
There are two ways to find out if you’re eligible for a program that is part of Express Entry:
- answer a few questions to see if you meet the minimum requirements
- read the detailed requirements for each program
The form will have simple questions about who you are, your work situation etc.

Step 2
Get your Documents Ready
You need some documents, such as language test results, to show that you’re eligible for Express Entry.

Some documents take a long time to get, so you should get them ready now.

- Valid passport or travel document
- Language test results
- Proof of Canadian education
- Proof of funds
Step 3

Expression of Interest

In most cases, a valid job offer must be supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). The employer has to apply for one from Employment and Social Development Canada/Service Canada. If they get a positive LMIA, they must give you a copy and a written job offer.
Step 4
Submit your profile
- Your Express Entry profile is where you give us information about yourself.
  
  If you’re eligible, we’ll accept you into our pool of candidates.
  
  You’ll be ranked in the Express Entry pool using a points-based system. Your score is based on the information in your profile.

Step 5

Receive an invitation and apply for permanent residence

We send invitations to apply to the candidates with the highest scores in the pool. If we invite you to apply, you’ll have 60 days to submit your application for permanent residence.

We’ll process most complete applications that have all the supporting documents in 6 months or less.

Who Qualifies for Express Entry?
In order to apply for permanent residence in Canada through Express Entry, a candidate must prove himself/herself eligible under one of the following federal economic immigration programs managed under the Express Entry:
1. The Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC)
2. The Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
3. The Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC)
Who can apply for PR under Express Entry?

In order to be eligible to apply for permanent residence (PR) under the Express Entry system, you must have at least three years of relevant work experience.

The applicants must prove their linguistic ability through recognized language tests. Though Express Entry does not have any eligible occupation list or caps, a candidate must have skilled work experience in a National Occupational Code (NOC) 0, A or B job, to be eligible under the system.

The following tips may assist in you standing out:
- Have your most recent and updates profile at all times.
- Be honest and precise on all your documents.
- Have Non expired Language test (valid for 2 years from the date of result)
- Prepare your police certificates (for 18 year-old-and-above)
- Find relevant employment ( Job Match)
- Improve your CRS score.
